Easter at Clarendon Street Vets
March 16, 2021
Hopefully this Easter will bring us not just chocolate but also some spring sunshine. We are all looking forward to the bank holiday weekend with our families and our four-legged friends and we thought we would include a few tips to help keep your pets happy and healthy this Easter.
- Chocolate eggs and other sweets can be harmful for your pet so keep them stored safely out of reach.
- Other seasonal foods, such as Hot Cross Buns, contain dried fruits which can also be poisonous to pets.
- Spring flowers, particularly Daffodils, Crocuses and Tulips, can be harmful if consumed so should be displayed out of reach, and cat owners should avoid having Lilys in the house, regardless of season.
If your pet has eaten something they shouldn’t, contact the surgery and we can advise you what to do. Symptoms to look out for include vomiting and diarrhoea, lethargy, lack of appetite, drooling, a sore or swollen stomach and a high temperature.
