We hope 2024 is treating you well so far. Happily, we made it through the Christmas period without too many chocolate or mince-pie related incidents!

We are keeping busy, and now have two vets on the rota each day, one consulting and the other operating. This has increased the number of appointments available as we now consult from 9am-12pm and again from 2pm-5pm, and 9.30am-12pm every Saturday. Hopefully this means it will be easier for you to book an on-the-day appointment should your pet become unwell.

Many thanks to any clients who nominated us for the 2024 Petplan Veterinary Awards. All three of our vets were nominated in the ‘Vet Of The Year’ category and we were also nominated for ‘Practice Of The Year’. We are keeping our fingers crossed!

February is Pet Dental Month. The health of a pet’s mouth can have significant impacts on the rest of their wellbeing, and problems such as persistent bad breath can be an early sign of underlying health conditions. If you have any questions or concerns about your pet’s oral health, or would like some advice on preventative dental care, we are always happy to advise or book your pet in for a dental check-up.

Our New Year’s resolution here at Clarendon Street Vets is to lower our carbon footprint. We are aware that ours is an industry that relies on a lot of single use plastics and we are keen to reduce our impact on the planet wherever we can. To date, we have replaced any inefficient appliances, switched to 100% recycled stationary and created a ‘no idling zone’ around the surgery. We have also invested in a recycling option for the blister packs from medications and are more than happy to dispose of your packaging should you return it to the surgery. Small steps maybe, but we hope that it all makes a difference.

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Harriet, Patrick and all the Clarendon Street team.
