Spring news from Clarendon Street Vets.

We continue to be busy here at the surgery, welcoming pets old and new.

As we write this, there has been a serious shortage of sunshine, but hopefully this will change very soon. With the warmer weather come the not so welcome fleas and ticks. The level of parasite protection your pet requires will depend on many factors including walking locations, whether there are children and other pets in the household, if they like to swim (dogs) and how amenable they are to handling (cats!) If you need any advice on the most suitable parasite prevention for your cat or dog, please feel free to give us a call and we can advise.

There has a been a lot of press coverage recently about veterinary fees, and as an independent local practice we are keen to provide a high level of care while keeping treatments as affordable as possible. We are in the process of updating our website to include more pricing information, and we always aim to provide estimates for procedures in advance. We are working on a subscription-based wellness plan which we hope to launch in the coming months and are looking at other options to spread the cost of bigger bills. We also work closely with both national and local charities to offer support to clients where necessary.

In other news, we are pleased that Amber, who has been working as a locum at the practice, has decided she likes us so much that she would like to become a permanent member of the team. We will update her staff bio on the website in the coming days as she will be keen to show off her much loved Bulldogs, Freddie and Chip.

Our New Year’s resolution was to reduce our carbon footprint, as ours is an industry involving a lot of consumables and single use plastics. We were very happy to take delivery of our blister pack recycling box and would like to invite any clients or other green champions to bring in any empty blister packs (from pet of human medications) for environmentally friendly disposal.

With very best wishes,

Patrick, Harriet and all the Clarendon Street Team
