Blood Tests for pets in Cambridge

The laboratory services available at the surgery are used to diagnose a range of conditions that might otherwise be very hard for us to identify.

Our in-house blood analysis machines mean we can run comprehensive blood profiles and have the results with you the same day.

We may recommend a blood test prior to surgery for older or unwell animals. This may flag up any underlying health conditions, and help us decide if your pet is fit enough to undergo a procedure.

Blood tests are also used as a routine tool to monitor an animal’s response to long-term medication, for example in older cats who are on life long treatment for Kidney or Thyroid conditions.

We regularly perform Urinalysis in-house, and test for Feline Leukaemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus.

For some less common conditions such as allergies, parasitic infections or histology, and for the Rabies Antibody Testing, we may send samples to external laboratories for analysis.
