January News

Happy New Year! We hope 2026 finds you well so far.

Firstly, a big “thank you” to everyone who sent in a pet photo for our Christmas tree baubles. We were thrilled with the response and the trees looked fantastic! If you would like to retrieve your bauble from surgery, please pop in.

Our first Puppy Classes will be running at Church Street this Saturday 17th January. 12.30-1pm is puppy socialisation, for young puppies who have had at least one vaccination, and 1-1.40pm is Cooperative Care, an introduction to creating positive experiences in a veterinary setting. We have one space remaining for the earlier class, whilst the later class is fully booked. The next classes are on Saturday, February 14th. Please get in touch if you would like to reserve a place.

Our weekly canine physiotherapy appointments with vet Hanna Crook are proving really popular. Physiotherapy can really benefit dogs with chronic conditions, including age-related conditions, or those requiring rehabilitation following surgery. Sessions are available every Monday at our Church Street Surgery. Both the puppy classes and physiotherapy sessions are open to pets registered at either of our surgeries.

Up until now, our out-of-hours care has been provided by vet24 in Milton. From February 9th, this service will be provided by Cambridge Night Vets in Linton. We will send an update with full contact details for the service once the changes come into effect but wanted to inform you of the upcoming changes. Up until February 9th, please continue to access 24-hour care if needed via vet24 in Milton.

We receive a lot of prescription requests at both surgeries, which can take a little while to fulfill on busy days. Whilst we always do our very best to help with last minute requests (we all forget from time to time!) where possible, please give us 24 hours' notice for medication requests and 48 hours' notice for written prescriptions. Requests received after 3pm will be carried over to the following day.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns about any aspects of your pet’s health, please do get in touch.

Patrick, Harriet and all the CVS team.
