World Animal Day Competition!

A love of animals is the reason CSV exists and the glue that holds the team together and inspires us to do our best, each day, for every animal that comes through the door. 

World Animal Day on October 4th is an annual celebration of the rights and the welfare of animals. The date aligns with the feast day of Saint Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals, who believed animals were our brethren and famously taught  

"Not to hurt our humble brethren is our first duty to them, but to stop there is not enough. We have a higher mission — to be of service to them wherever they require it." 

This year's day is particularly special. It is the hundred-and-first world animal day, and the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis. To celebrate, we are inviting you to send us your favourite animal moments. This is not limited to pets, and includes any memory, relationship or encounter that holds meaning for you. 

We are not looking for perfect writing, just stories that express the joy of sharing our lives and planet with animals of all kinds. We welcome accompanying photos or drawings and entries from all ages. 

Please email your entries to info@clarendonstreetvets.co.uk by Friday October 2nd.  

We will choose our favourite and donate £300 to an animal charity of the writer's choosing. We will also publish a selection of entries on the website for everyone to enjoy.
